Limited to one pair per person.As the first collaborative footwear style designed between Travis Scott and the Nike SB division, following successful launches last year of the Air Jordan and Air Force 1, these Nike SB x Travis Scott Dunk Low Premium Shoes reflect influences from the artists most recent album ‘JACKBOYS’ and his upbringing in Houston, Texas. In tune with a recent trend for customisation, dark navy denim-style panels adorned with a white paisley bandana print wear away throughout time to reveal a parachute beige nubuck underlay with embossed Cactus Jack branding. Perforation has been added at the toe for ventilation and above this off-white rope-style laces add another unique, textured detail. Replacing the usual Nike SB branded label, hand-drawn ‘Cactus Jack’ lettering reminiscent of the original Dogtown logo can be seen on a narrow woven label that sits just below the top of the tongue which has a petra brown coloured piped edge. On either side of the foot tartan panels vary in colour between the outer and inner, as do black and light pink nubuck Swoosh ticks which have elongated tips that meet around the back of the heel. A curved nubuck overlay covers the join around the back of the shoe and is adorned with off-white embroidered ‘Nike’ lettering.
Throughout the inside a dense mesh lining matches the underside of the tongue and the sockliner has a custom repeat paisley print design and the same ‘Cactus Jack’ logo design as seen on the tongue. Comparable to original Dunk models, the cupsole is made from high quality rubber and has a two tone layered design and a skate-focused tread design that delivers reliable grip and features a pivot point below the forefoot.
Created by American rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer Travis Scott for Nike’s skateboarding division, this edition of the famous Nike SB Dunk acts as a reflection of the artists own creative vision and personal style which is known for being experimental. Having signed with Epic Records for his first major-record deal in 2012 and later with Kanye West’s GOOD music, Scott released his last album ‘JACKBOYS’ in late 2019 which featured the likes of Sheck Wes, Don Toliver, and Chase B. As the title track, the music video for ‘JACKBOYS’ released a day after the album and saw Scott donning a pair of these custom Dunk Low Premium Shoes, immediately kick starting hype for their February 2020 release.
