Nike SB x Ishod Wair x Magnus Walker Dunk High 911 Shoes in Sail, Blue Beyond and Track Red. A three part collaboration that combines the creativity of team rider Ishod Wair with internationally renowned petrol head Magnus Walker, the Nike SB Dunk High 911 is an automotive inspired silhouette that pays conceptual tribute to the LA-based auto enthusiasts iconic 1971 Porsche 911 T 277. Styled with stone washed canvas, brushed suede and cracked leather uppers that are inspired by the motorcar’s rusted paintwork and sunkissed finish, these high top skate shoes feature an integrated Zoom Air unit, a tri-colour rubber outsole and classic cupsole tread that not only honours the design’s OG courtside ties, but also the classic colourway of Walker’s 1999 purchased Pomona Swap Meet Porsche 911. Perforations across the sidewalls are a circulatory complement to the pastel blue swoop back Swooshes that reference the car’s sculpted nose and tail bumpers, whilst each set of interchangeable laces is styled with an Urban Outlaw decal across the aglets that pay tribute to Walker’s infamous short film from 2012. An exposed foam ‘Nike SB x Ishod x Magnus’ tongue is complemented by deconstructed foam edge collar detailings and mix match tartan fabric linings that are inspired by classic Porsche seat designs, whilst the internal tongue label and the reinforced canvas heel brace’s embroidered Union Jack trim pays homage to the Sheffield-born automobile devotee’s UK ties. Printed ‘Nike SB’ branding across each track scarred midsole is styled in the original Porsche font as a tribute to traditional undercarriage detailing, with the red stamped ‘277’ branding across each exterior facing lateral panel styled as a like-for-like symbolism of the 911’s iconic door stamps. Signed off with custom ‘Nike SB x Walker x Wair’ insoles and with printed ‘Urban Outlaw’ logos across each perforated sidewall for additional reference.
Following on from the 24 Hours of Le Mans inspired Pink Pig Dunk and the 917/20 coupé referencing Gulf Dunk Low from earlier this year, Nike SB joins forces with fellow petrol head and team rider Ishod Wair to share in Magnus Walker’s admiration for automobile memorabilia and cross-cultural sporting innovation. Adhering to Nike’s SB’s conceptual ‘cars for feet’ analogy and the exponential growth of the brand’s Dunk Low and Dunk High rosta, Walker and Wair collaborate to bring to life one of the most identifiable and characterised P-Car creations to date.
