A collaborative quickstrike release inspired by Japanese culture, Shibuya’s ‘Hachiko’ heritage and the notion of supporting independent businesses, these blue hero, black and pale ivory Nike SB x Instant Dunk Low Pro QS 2 Shoes arrive as yet another remastered Dunk release from the sporting powerhouse. Styled with both smooth nubuck and textured leather uppers, these low-profile Dunks pay homage to their classic court-side roots by maintaining the OG rubber cupsole and jet-black rubber outsole. Circular pivot-points and multi-directional traction trims keep boardfeel and responsive resilience at the forefront of its design, whilst the pre-built Zoom Air Unit in the heel ensures well-cushioned wear both on and off the board. Perforated toe-box detailing is revised with 3M reflective silver overlays and a single mini-Swoosh decal for striking after-dark vibes, whilst the neon-yellow trimmed quarter-panel swoop-back Swooshes give way to a stitch-stacked fabric heel collar beneath bright-yellow embroidered ‘Nike’ branding. Interchangeable puffy laces secure the split-tone leather overlays across the padded tongue, with the commemorative ‘Nike SB x Instant Skateboards’ brand tab delivering retro-inspired vibes through its brightly coloured design. Custom ‘Instant Tokyo MMXX’ and ‘Nike SB Zoom Air’ insoles celebrate this exclusive collaboration with photo-illustrative detailing, whilst the embroidered honouring of loyal canine-companion ‘Hachiko’ and crossbones/crosstrucks decals across the exterior-facing lateral panel seals the design with active reference to Japanese cultural symbolism and the notion of loyalty and influential good-luck.
Pairing skatewear giant Nike SB with Tokyo-based skate shop Instant Skateboards, this eagerly awaited release celebrates skate culture at its finest. Following in the footsteps of its Orange Label collection by supporting smaller establishments and independent retailers, Nike SB help Instant Skateboards celebrate their 25th anniversary in style by dropping a signature pair of rehashed Dunk Low Pro QS 2 Shoes into the never-ending rosta of 2020 reworked dunks.
