Following on from the previously released ‘Pink Pig’ homage to the Porsche 917/20 coupé, the Nike SB Dunk Low Pro ‘Gulf’ hosts yet another automobile-inspired construction that pays active tribute to Porsche’s 917 Gulf track car from the ‘70s. Styled with brushed-suede uppers in a referential shade of pastel-blue, these low-collared skate shoes offer a conceptual reflection of the Gulf-Porsche 917s World Sportscar Championship livery. The contrast-coloured black and white split-tone cupsole is complemented by Nike’s impact-resilient Zoom Air Unit for increased step-by-step cushioning, whilst the statement safety-orange outsole combines both courtside legacy with automotive heritage for a durable day-on-day skate. Reflective of the centre-stripe detailing across the iconic chassis, the bright-orange trim is elevated by the embroidered ‘#58’ quarter-panel and tongue-tab trims; a playful tribute to both race-car insignias and Nike SB’s ‘Club 58’ skate group collective.
