Arriving as the latest Air Jordan 1 Low collaboration between Nike SB and pro skater Eric Koston, these premium Eric Koston Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 Low UNC Shoes carry an aesthetic that resembles Michael Jordan’s college team - the UNC Tar Heels - in shades of powder blue and white across crisp leather uppers and a breathable mesh lining. Across the front of the toes a reinforced panel has been added for durability whilst perforation above encourages ventilation. Leather overlays across the rest of the uppers enhances the design’s low-cut silhouette. The vamp has been altered slightly for this design and two pairs of laces accompany each style, in colour matched powder blue and white. Signature elongated Swoosh ticks have been added on either outer panel and at the back of the heel a signature Air Jordan brand logo highlights the collab. Within the design the sockliner features an Air unit in the heel for plush cushioning and the tread has been designed with one main pivot point alongside a detailed pattern that supports grip across a variety of terrains.
Said to be inspired by a pair of Air Jordans which Koston pined after as a child but was denied by his mother, the inner tongue labels of this model features both his signature and the influential designs original price tag in 1986 of $24.99. A homage to the iconic Air Jordan silhouette and the North Carolina Tar Heels men’s basketball team, which in 1982 included freshman Michael Jordan, the crisp two tone uppers offer a premium finish with subtle updates from previous collaborative models.
