Coming up during a time when the scene was beginning to get a little serious, Frog Skateboards offers a step back to a more humble era within skateboardings ever expanding lifespan. Born through Mango’s love of drawing frogs and other loveable creatures that look good in pastel, Alba and Millic started Frog Skateboards as a personal venture off the back of a departure from Welcome. Blessed with the freedom of their own company, creativity blossomed throughout the brand, experimentation flows freely and the results show an abundance of fun.
The brand heads up SP19 with a playful collaboration with Nike SB for a Quickstrike, custom rendition of the Blazer Mid; Frog Skateboards have ensured an instantly recognisable silhouette. Dropping in an era of skateboarding trends, it’s safe to say that the Nike SB x Frog Skateboards Blazer Mid is one of a kind. Featured in a crafted, hairy suede upper, which is housed in a light liquid lime colourway, unique detailing is offered through the chenille material Frog mascot, whom can be found peeking from the top of the wraparound Swoosh, while printed ladybirds are located on the midsole heel, accompanied by a swarming repeat pattern on the custom laces - it’s safe to say you’re not short of animal embellishments. We approve and probably so would Kermit.
Few shoes claim such rich heritage as the Nike Blazer, especially the mid top. With the Nike SB rendition providing ample amounts of skate functionality through the additions of Zoom Air units, herringbone tread patterns and impact absorbing sockliners, the archival silhouette passes the modernity test seamlessly.
